Galaxy Z Fold8 battery capacity under testing
For the Fold8, Samsung is currently evaluating two battery cells rated at 2,369 mAh and 2,485 mAh. Combined, that totals 4,854 mAh, while the typical capacity is expected to be marketed as 5,000 mAh. It’s a solid step up, even if it still trails many Chinese handsets.
Fold Wide aimed at iPhone Fold/Ultra
The Fold Wide model (name not confirmed), being developed to take on the iPhone Fold/Ultra, is said to come with a slightly smaller 4,900 mAh battery - still a clear improvement over the Fold7.
Fold7, as a reminder, uses a 4,400 mAh battery, and that capacity has remained unchanged since the Fold3 era; the Fold2 actually had a marginally larger 4,500 mAh pack.
