Nvidia: Jensen Huang says AI products could reach $1 trillion

All thanks to AI

Speaking yesterday at GTC-where Nvidia unveiled a large number of new products-Nvidia chief Jensen Huang said the company expects to sell $1 trillion worth of AI products this year.

"I predict that sales of artificial intelligence hardware up to 2027 will total at least one trillion dollars"

On that reading, and taking Huang’s remarks at face value, the figure could end up even higher-at the very least.

What a $1 trillion annual run-rate would mean for Nvidia

It is worth stressing that there are no companies anywhere in the world that come close to $1 trillion in yearly revenue. For comparison, Walmart reported revenue of $681bn in its last financial year; Amazon recorded $638bn; and Apple brought in “only” $391bn. Again, these are revenue figures, not profit.

If Nvidia manages to push past the $1 trillion mark, it would outstrip every other company globally by a wide margin. Given the margins in Nvidia’s current business, profits would also be unprecedented.

Analysts are not unanimously convinced

That said, not all analysts agree with Nvidia’s statement.
