What’s Standard on the Electric Mercedes-Benz GLC Without the MBUX Hyperscreen?

Silver Mercedes-Benz SUV displayed indoors with digital screens visible inside and on side windows.

So far, the only version of the all-new electric Mercedes-Benz GLC we have seen is the one fitted with the MBUX Hyperscreen, a full-width mega display spanning the dashboard with a vast 39.1 in.

The effect is undeniably striking, but the MBUX Hyperscreen is not part of the new GLC’s standard equipment. That immediately raises the obvious question: what actually comes as standard? The answer arrived quickly-see the image below.

Standard screens in the electric Mercedes-Benz GLC

As you can see, the car comes with three displays as standard, all housed beneath the same glass surface: a 10.3 in instrument cluster, a 14 in central touchscreen for infotainment, and another 14 in display in front of the passenger.

The “digital animated panel” in front of the passenger

That last screen is… unusual, because it does not respond to touch. Mercedes-Benz refers to it as a “digital animated panel”, and it is there purely for decoration.

Optional upgrades: MBUX Superscreen and MBUX Hyperscreen

To make that display genuinely useful-after all, it is a generous 14 in diagonally-you need to head into the options list and choose the MBUX Superscreen. Could it end up being available only via subscription? With this option, the passenger display becomes touch-enabled, allowing the front passenger to interact with it.

Naturally, if you want the full immersive experience, you will have to step up again and select the MBUX Hyperscreen (above), which merges the three screens into a single unit. Will we see any GLC leaving the dealership with the “digital animated panel”?
