Rumoured Honor Magic 9: key specifications

Insider Digital Chat Station has shared the specifications of a new smartphone being prepared for launch in China. It is described as a flagship model and should appeal to fans of compact handsets: it is said to feature a flat 6.36-inch display. In other words, it would be a similarly compact device to the current Galaxy S26.

Battery, cameras and platform

Despite its size, the handset is tipped to come with an unusually large battery for a compact device - 8000 mAh. For comparison, the Galaxy S26 battery is 4300 mAh. Alongside the huge battery, it is also expected to offer a high-end camera setup, with sensors rated at 200, 50 and 64 MP.

As for the platform, the smartphone is expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen6 SoC, and the device could be released in September.

Which model could it be?

The insider did not name the model directly, but based on indirect signs it has been suggested that the device could be the Honor Magic 9.

Digital Chat Station’s track record

Previously, Digital Chat Station was the first to accurately report the specifications of the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro, as well as that the Realme GT 7 Pro would get a bright Samsung display, and that the Dimensity 9400 SoC would arrive ahead of the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
