Ironically, Microsoft’s Windows 11 tools page features an AI image with two Start buttons

Microsoft’s push for AI runs into an avoidable mistake

The irony: a page teaching Windows tools trips over AI

In its drive to weave AI into almost everything - Windows 11 included - Microsoft appears to have had a minor misstep. On a section of the company’s website that demonstrates how to use Windows tools, the page relies on an AI-generated image containing a very obvious error.

The AI-generated image on the Windows tools page

As the picture shows, the laptop is supposedly running Windows 11, yet the taskbar includes two “Start” buttons. That immediately points to two things.

First, someone failed to properly check the generated image and let such a glaring blunder slip through. Second, Microsoft seems to consider AI-made visuals acceptable even on pages where users are being taught how to work with the company’s own tools.

What the Windows 11 double “Start” button suggests

What makes this even more awkward is that there is nothing complicated in the shot at all; creating it in the usual, non-AI way would have been extremely straightforward.

Adding to the irony, Microsoft did at least label the picture honestly as AI-generated.
