The company may skip the public beta testing phase

As reported by Xiaomitime, Xiaomi is preparing a rapid global rollout of HyperOS 3.1, potentially bypassing the usual public beta testing stage. This is suggested by information from the company’s servers: by the look of it, international builds of the system have moved from internal testing to a near-release status almost immediately.

The global version of HyperOS 3.1 will be based exclusively on Android 16, meaning the update will only reach devices that support the new Android release. Key changes are expected to include a redesigned Recent Apps menu in an iOS-like style, deeper integration with iPhone and other Apple devices, and an improved Hyper Island system featuring new animations, broader third-party app support, and more interactive notifications.

According to internal build data, release versions for a number of devices have already been spotted on Xiaomi’s update servers. These include the Xiaomi 17 for the European market, the Xiaomi 15T Pro for Europe, and the Xiaomi 17 Ultra / Leica / Leitzphone for Europe and India. All of these builds are based on Android 16.

Although an official global launch date has not yet been announced, the signs indicate that the update could begin rolling out at any time.
