The Finnish Ministry of Defence reported on Sunday that a drone entered Finland’s airspace from across the eastern border it shares with Russia.
In a statement, the ministry said: "It is suspected that an unmanned aerial vehicle has violated Finnish airspace in eastern Finland".
Detection near the eastern border with Russia
Finland’s Air Force detected the drone in the Virolahti area, close to the Russian border.
At this stage, the origin of the aircraft has not been confirmed, and it has since left Finnish airspace.
