Tolls on the Vasco da Gama and 25 de Abril bridges have already gone up, with the new prices applying from yesterday, 1 January 2026.

The toll charges have risen by 2.38%, reflecting the year-on-year inflation rate recorded excluding housing (2.28%), plus an additional 0.1%. This extra uplift stems from an exceptional scheme introduced in 2022, when the Government chose to cap toll increases in response to the sharp rise in inflation at the time.

In return, the concession holders were allowed to recoup, in subsequent years, part of the increase that was not applied in 2023-an adjustment that is now incorporated into the 2026 tariff update.
